Who we are?
WE-CARE Foundation, a Liberian education not-for- profit, was founded in 1992 amid a brutal civil war. It started with a book chain program where people could take books from WE-CARE and after reading them, simply share it with each other with-out returning it. Also, she hoped that as people ( mainly the youth) read, they would be too busy to fight or hurt each other. WE-CARE can’t say if it really succeeded but all the books available were always taken away. This evolved into the WE- CARE Library and the establishment of libraries/ reading rooms in schools and economically challenged communities.
Today, WE-CARE trains teachers, teacher educators, writers, publishers, and produces engaging and relevant children’s books for the schools and the reading public.
